Hey there ya'll. I hope that your first month of 2021 has been awesome. I know that we just came out of a hard year, and it won't fix itself overnight, but doesn't it feel good to be in a new place. New is always exciting and a little scary, and a lot good for us most of the time. We resist change so much. I think we feel like even if what we are in right now, at least its familiar. And knowing the bad has to be better than the possibility of what might happen if I change.
Well, we serve a God of change. That's just the way it is. The only thing in this universe that doesn't change is God himself. The triune God is the same yesterday, today, and forever. As daddy used to say, "You can take that to the bank." When you are saved, you are justified by faith right then. You don't have to keep accepting that salvation over and over again. You can and should be thankful for it over and over again, but you don't have to accept it from God again. You did it once, it's yours. However, God is always pushing (or in my case sometimes pulling) us into sanctification. That's the process where we try to become more and more like Christ. Sanctification, unlike justification that's instant and then permanent, is constant sometimes painful movement away from who you were yesterday and toward who God wants you to be tomorrow. We are always changing and we have to change how we hear and share the gospel accordingly.
This is not a new problem. The first century church dealt with change love we have never known. Christianity, following Christ, changed everything. It meant that if you were already a Jew you had to change and accept gentiles. If you were a gentile you had to accept that this Jewish man, Jesus, came to save you too. Paul talks about it over and over in his letters. Leave the old things behind and in Christ your are a new creation.
So, with all of this change in mind, and changing my mind on how I believe that God wants me to share the gospel I have stepped into a new style of ministry. I have started a YouTube channel. Part of the reason I've been MIA on the blood lately, the other part being in still learning how to juggle two kids as a stay-at-home mom and try and stay safe in this pandemic.
So the channel is called "This Moment." The name came from a verse in Esther. Esther 4:14, "Perhaps this is the moment for which you have been created."
Mordecai, Esther's cousin, is telling her that as the queen she can save her people Israel. She replies she can't because she can't go to the king without being called. Basically she is scared. Aren't we all when we face change and responsibility and in this case live and death. But he responds back to her verse 14. What if the whole reason you became queen was too save the Jews? What is this moment right here is what everything has been orchestrated for?
And that's the whole point of my channel. It's the same point I tried to make in my writing and well. Let's not miss the moments asking the way that point is to Jesus, because the might just be what we were made for.
Check out the videos. There's only a couple so far, but I'll get more to soon. Also don't forget to subscribe and got the notification been so you'll be the first to know when new videos are available. If you'll live what you see give me a big thumbs up so I'll know you want more.
Finally thank you all for the encouragement you have been in my ministry journey so far. I plan to still write as well, and I'm hoping I can become more consistent with that in 2021. Pray that you are blessed by what God gives me to share and that you can be a blessing to someone else.
